Helton Silva inicia sua vivência musical aos 9 anos, tendo como primeiro instrumento o saxofone. Influenciado pelas audições desde tenra idade, em seu espaço familiar, ampliou seus estudos musicais, dando ênfase ao violão.
Os anos e a ânsia por música o levaram ao ensino superior de música - Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Principais professores: Jodacil Damaceno, Sandra Mara Alfonso, Jorge Bertolini.
Após o término do curso superior de música, ampliou seus conhecimentos direcionando seu foco à área de Musicoterapia (Especialização - CBM). Trabalhou por vários anos em instituições de saúde.
Paralelo a musicoterapia, realizou diversos trabalhos musicais, participando de diferentes formações, gravações e grupos, acompanhando cantores(as), etc.
Seu caminho musical sempre esteve atrelado à música instrumental, ponto de equilíbrio e estílo perseguido. Tem como principais influências: Tom Jobim, Toninho Horta, Helio Delmiro, Lula Galvão, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino and Metheny.
Atualmente trabalha na finalização de seu primeiro CD intitulado "MAIS PERTO". Assina os arranjos e as composições (inéditas).

www.myspace.com/heltonsilva Helton Silva began his music studies at the age of nine, his first instrument being the saxophone. Being influenced by the sounds within his home at a young age, he made the decision to persue studies in music, and decided to specialize in guitar. He was drawn to music so fervently, that he decided he needed to understand fully, he must persue this in a university. His University of choice was the Federal University of Uberlandia, in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Helton's first professors being: Sandra Mara Alfonso, Jorge Bertolini and Jodacil Damaceno (known as one of the best professors of the acoustic guitar). After graduation, Helton decided to enhance his musical knowledge by taking post graduate courses in music therapy, using his knowledge and feelings for the same in helping others. Working for many years in institutions of mental health, wherien his music would be of benefit to the patients. In parallel with his music therapy he realized many other avenues of music. Participating in many shows with various groups, singers, studio recordings besides arranging and composing. His direction in music was from this centered to instrumental, wherein he found the balance in style that he desired. He was greatly influenced by: Tom Jobim, Toninho Horta, Helio Delmiro, Lula Galvao, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino and Metheny. With his style and the preceeding influences, first recorded compositions in his studio, the first CD being "MAIS PERTO" (VERY CLOSE). All the arrangements and compositions belong to Helton Silva.
